Searching widget not searching .pdf, .ppt and other file extensions

I am using the search widget on Sitefinity 5.3 site and it doesn't search if I search using these file extensions .pdf, .ppt etc. Please help.

Hi,

The search only searched by the Title field when searching documents, file extensions is not a field for documents and will not be searched. To search for file extensions add new custom field for documents and specify the custom field name in the search index as described here.
