Locked pages

Hello Telerik / everyone

Currently, if someone view a page in the sitefinity page, that page is marked as locked for everyone else. Could we turn that default off so that pages only lock if we set them to ?

if yes then how to do that.. ?

It is good practice to do that ?

Maulik,

I don't believe that's possible and wouldn't be very good practice anyway.

Sitefinity locks the page because it thinks you're going to be editing it. If it didn't do that, everyone would be able to go in and edit, publish and make changes at the same time...there'd be a whole mess of problems.

If you want to be sure that it unlocks when you're done, make sure you use the "Publish" or "Back to Pages" functionality. It really only becomes a problem when people use the back button on the browser to leave the page editor.

Hello,

Thank you Tim for your help.

The content item cannot be opened, because it is being edited by another user.
When a content item/page is edited by another user, in the list of content items/pages, the system displays   next to the item.

More information about types of statuses could be found here.

Kind regards,
