Archive widget - group (expand/collapse) by years

In SF 3.7 or earlier, when you dropped and configured a Blog or News Archive control, it had months grouped by years, which could be expanded or collapsed (by year).  In SF 5.4, when I drop the ARCHIVE widget onto a News page (to create a News archive filter), and I configure it according to Configuring the Archive Widget in documentation, I end up with a flat bullet list that goes something like this (let's say I configured it for Year and Month only):

- 2013 May
- 2013 April
- 2013 January
- 2012 December
- 2012 November
- etc.

Nothing is grouped or indented.  Is this by "design?"  A configuration I'm missing?  A glitch with my implementation?

Thanks.

Hi Marko,

The content you filter with the Archive Widget will be grouped, but the widget itselfs doesn't render a treeview or panel like in 3.7. You should create your own implementation of such a control.

Kind regards,
Daniel

I don't understand.  How is it "grouped," then, if there is no treeview or other visual grouping of any kind?
