hi all,

may i know whether Google Analytics is the only option to enable the analytics feature ? If so, what is the different between looking at the report directly from Google Analytics ?
Is that possible to keep track of the number of visit in Content level ?

many thanks,

ec

Hi Eddie,

The Analytics section in Sitefinity is tied to the KPIs generated from Google Analytic, so the answer of your first question should be "Yes" - Google is the only option for the Analytics feature.

This way your Sitefinity users will have easy access to the reporting data using their CMS credentials only, thus allowing you to protect the integrity of the actual Google Analytics account. You can use the Sitefinity permissions to delegate access to specific dashboard only to specific users and roles.

Currently, we are rewriting the Analytics dashboard from Silverlight to brand new HTML5 powered charts and graphs, but you can see the tool in action here.

If you are interested, here you can see how to configure the Sitefinity Analytics module. To be more specific, here is info on the reports for visited content (link here)

Last, but not least, using client side scripts, you can use any other popular tracking engine, as they all rely on JavaScript to generate key indicators for your site visitors.

Peter
