Hi,
I think a update for Twitter API has been released.
So the twitter widget is not working with Sitefinity 5.4.4040
Do we have any patch for this?

Thanks

Hi Ruchira,

Your assumption is correct. Due to the changes in the Twitter API the Twitter widget in Sitefinity 5.4 is not functional. We had to rewrite a big part of the widget in order to be able to get it up and working, so it is available in Sitefinity 6.0. What I would advise is consider an upgrade to the latest version of Sitefinity.

Please excuse us for the caused inconvenience.

Hi,
We have made a twitter feed widget.
Fenêtre's Sitefinity Twitter Feed is a widget with:

  • Supereasy automatic installation
  • Twitter 1.1 API support
  • No javascript usage for WAI compliant websites
  • Easy CSS customization for you own styling
  • Full query, account or hashtag search support
  • More button option
  • Number of results setting
  • Support for Sitefinity version 5.1 or higher

It seems that the publish to Twitter function is also no longer working in 5.4.
Does 6.0 address this as well?

Hello Scott,

We have not received any other complains on the Twitter publishing functionality. Can you please check all you configurations if they are properly setup?

Hello Pavel,

Since Twitter is a pretty much used function on a modern Web App and since it takes some time to upgrade from Sitefinity 5.0 to 6.0, we would really like to see a solution from Telerik's side to get at least the twitter feed working again at 5.0.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Jelle,

The other option you have is to remove the old widget, go here to create a new one, get the code and use it for example in a Content Block (place the source code in the HTML section of the Content Block).
