Spoofing Automatic Module URLs

Hi,
I am wondering if there is any reason that it would be a bad idea to spoof the automatically generated module URLs as explained below:

Custom content type: Games
Content items for “Games”: Baseball, Basketball, Soccer

Pages:
- Games (url: /games)
-- Baseball  (url: /games/baseball)
-- Basketball (url: /games/basketball)
-- Soccer (url: /games/soccer

The “Games” page has a Games module container with list view. Under “single item settings” it is set to open in an auto-generated page. Each of the pages for Baseball, Basketball, and Soccer has a module container with “one particular game only…” set and the corresponding content item chosen. On the Games page the automatically generated URLs for the list view will be created correctly to send the user to the correct game page (as long as the content item URL and the page URL match).

I have tested this and it works. Before I implement this on a website I want to make sure that there isn’t any issue with this way of spoofing the URLs. Are there any performance, security, database, etc. issues that I haven’t thought through?

Editing a URL is a frequently used functionality and there are no performance, security, or database issues concerning altering the automatically generated content item URLs.
