Backend language still changes when page language changes

Sorry for bothering again. But we are now on 6.1 and the backen will still change the language according to the front end language of the page

This is an 2 year old matter if I am not mistaken and I still have german users having to have change pages in 4 languages depending on the front end language.

@Georgi

I know this is not trivial but it is still a bug when a user can set his prefered language but still has to edit all pages according to front end language

Again imagine a site in english and arabic and some guy in the US having to update an image. Good luck

I really would see a commitment from Telerik to this bug/feature :-)

Even if you tell me 7.1 I don't care. I just want someone to tell me yes its not nice and we will eventually fix it. Again - not all sites are english only and have only english speeking editors.

Hello Markus,

I completely understand your concern. I have increased the priority of the bug but still I cannot commit to a time frame for a fix but it will definitely be fixed. I have also added the video you provided.

Dear Atanas

Sorry for beeing a contang p.i.t.n.

Preview is another thing that should read "Vorschau" in German. It seems that this is another part were something is hardcoded because it was reported many moons ago :-)

Thanks's for your constant improvement of Sitefinity.

Hello Markus,

The problem with Preview is that it is part of the workflow and is not localizable.

@Telerik

I am so much looking forward to the new features.

But with all the efford you are putting into the new features how about finally fixing some 4.0 stuff.

Look at this video: www.marktold.com/screencast/sf_language_mess.swf

a) German as default backen language
b) English as my prefered language -> what should that do
c) adding an arabic age results in
  1) guess work what I have to do - I might just want to change an image
  2) Buttons in 3 languages (english, arabic, german)

SF is supposed to be multilingual but I would prefer my backend in the choosen prefered language of my profile -> that's what clients would expect.

I guess if I find this on PITS it has only 1 vote and is not a concern. But there are countries that speak more then one language.

I am still wondering how the large companies do this which are often multilingual. No complains from them. Am I the only one bitching about this.

Hi Markus,

Unfortunately at this point I do not have information if this will be resolved in 6.2. I have escalated this further internally. I will have more information when the planning for 6.3 is finished. I have also included your screenshots and videos in our internal system to better illustrate the issue.

Dear Atanas

Thank's for trying to escalate this. You realise though that this has been so since 4.0 and I bit... about it many times.

But again  - Looking forward to be impressed with 6.3  and Telerik will once more deliver more then we expect

And yes 4 month later it still bothers me that I can have multiple backend languages, set the profile to one of the languages but when you editing a page the backend changes the language to the language of the page.

Now that we pay an extra 1'000 USD how about fixing this for 7.0

For crying out loud does anyone care about this? Or shall I simply shut up and go on and live with it?

Just tell me if there is no intention to fix that and I will stop bothering and tell my customers that this is simply a limitation of a CMS that can do mobile on the fly :-(

Hello Markus,

This issue is in the pipe to be fixed. Due to the dynamic nature of the product itself and shifting priorities, there is no rigid time frame for a resolution.

Thank you for the understanding.
