Problem editing Event content

I'm trying to change the content of an event.  Every time I make a change using the WYSIWYG editor in the Sitefinity CMS it looks right in the editor, but gets mangled and changes when I click Publish.  The text is no longer bold, centered, or correctly spaced.  I've tried editing the HTML using the CMS, and the same thing happens.

Any suggestions about why this happens?

To work around this issue, I'd like to edit the content directly in the DB, but I can't seem to find it for the life of me.  I can find the event in the sf_Events table, but the content there matches the version 1 content not the current version 22 content.  Does someone know the schema for the DB well enough to lead me to the right version of the content so I can edit it directly without having the CMS WYSIWYG mess it up?

I'm using Sitefinity 5.3 and there is no possibility of upgrading any time soon, it's just not in the budget.
