News widget -Author

Hi,
In news widget we can enter Author and source name ,instead of enter every time same name  i want to pick from any category or tag or else  or by default display here . Is there any way entering every time ?

Hello,

The easiest solution is to create a choice custom field, render it as dropdown (from Administration > Settings > Advanced > News > Controls > Views > NewsBackendEdit > Sections > CustomFieldSection > Fields > YourField and set RenderChoiceAs to "DropDown").
Then you need to modify List and SingleItem template to render it.
