How to create a Custom Workflow that allows a Sender to Cancel the Approval Request for an item

Are there any blog posts or tutorials on how to create a Custom Workflow to allow a Sender to cancel their request for Approval ("Awaiting Approval" Status) so that they may Edit the item and re-send another request for approval to the designated Approver(s).
