Expanding list of content to "Page from this Site"

How can we add custom content pages to the tree of pages when linking content from one page of the site to another? Currently it only shows actual pages, but we need ot be able to link to blog posts, news and custom content. This will really help our accuracy as admins and help prevent broken/dead links down the road.

Extending the default dialog is an option, however it might involve more development on your end, as it's been custom tailored to the available options out of the box. What I'd recommend in this case is to develop a custom Link dialog for the ContentEditor and implement logic for linking to any content item you'd like.
