License and Upgrade

We have been given a site built using Sitefinity 4.4. we don't have the account access to download the license files of the uper version as we are planning to upgrade the site to 7.x 

we only have the license file of SF4.4 included in the App_Data folder. is there a way to get a new license file for 7.x ? for the same domain name?

You need to contact the license holder to get you the Sitefinity.lic file, OR have them add you as a developer to the account so you can go in to download it yourself...
