Authentication service 401 error - Sitefinity - General Discussions

Hi,

I am trying to authenticate user through the service /Sitefinity/Services/Security/Users.svc/Authenticate. I am passing the data as told in the help section of service as "MembershipProvider":"Default","Password":"password","Persistent":true,"UserName":"name".

Request Headers are User-Agent: Fiddler
Host: hostname
Content-Length: length
Content-Type : application/json

What i wanted to do is, authenticate user using services and then create/update the site content like news, but i get unauthorized result in the authentication step, is there anything I am missing?
Please provide your input on this.
