RSS Feeds - Sort & Filter for Events

Is it possible to sort and filter events RSS feeds by the EventStart date field?

We have a digital signage display solution by viewneo in our reception areas that dynamically pull content into the slides via RSS feeds. I would like the digital advertisement displays to pull an RSS feed that only has upcoming events, not past events, and to sort by the EventStart date.

I am looking for a solution to this same problem, myself. I have figured out how to use the FilterExpression property with the Event widget frontend view but see no way to do something similar when setting up the RSS feed for events.
