Allowing site to access images in an Images sub folder

Update: This issue was resolved.  I'll post how it was resolved in a reply

I'd like to be able to allow my Sitefinity 8.2 site to be able to reference files inside of an images subfolder in the root page of the site.

I would like to be able to store files in that directory and then be able to link to those images from within the site.  For some reason I am unable to figure out how to do that.

For example I have various icons within a sub folder.  \images\icons.  I would like to be able to access those files by inputting my web site, the images folder, and then the image name -- mywebsite.com/.../circle.png.

I get an error 404 when I try to access one of them.  Even locally.  Any ideas?

The server is running Windows 2012 R2 using IIS.

Attached is an image of the folder layout from the Sitefinity 8.2 file manager.  These are the files I'm referring to.

This link was very helpful in resolving this issue:

www.sitefinity.com/.../image-folder-in-root

I had to go into Advanced Settings and under Libraries>Images there is a value for UrlRoot.  It was set to "Images".  I renamed that one to "sf-images" and was able to reference my legacy images and icons immediately.
