Adding Widgets to Custom Sitefinity Navigation

I created a type of navigation in which I wish to place a searchBox widget into it. I used the design -> widget template to create it. I have the following css classes  .sfSearchBox, .sfSearchTxt, .sfSearchSubmit, which are all original settings just colour changes. Does anyone have any suggestions?
