How to upload a .txt file

Hi,

I am trying to gain access to the Google Analytics account that is currently retrieving data from my site. Google says to create a text file containing certain text (specified by Google) and name it Analytics.txt, then upload it to my site so that it appears as www.mysite.com/analytics.txt

Google need to access the text file from the link I provide them which is in the format outlined above so that they can prove I own the site. 

can anyone please tell me how to get this text file onto my site?

You will most likely need access to the file system on the server.  The only other option is to try under Administration >> File Manager and upload the file at the root of the site.
