Replication using Pro2 OpenEdge tool details.

Hi,

I need some details about Pro2 Progress OE tools for replication ..... Could you guys please help ?

* Pro2 compatible with Open Edge 11.6 RDBMS with Enterprise edition...?

* Pro2 compatible on linux server ( is there any dependency...? )

* Is there any trial version of Pro2...?

* Database size does matter for Pro2 or not..?

Yes.

Please contact Progress Software. I believe there is no trail. But I am sure Progress could make something for you,

It does not matter. I have 1.3 TB database, though I replicate only about 5% of it,

The size of the database will affect only the initial push ( Bulk Insert ). And if you replicate only some subset of tables then the size of that subset will matter. The size of the tables that you do not replicate does not matter.

The performance of replication after the initial push will depend how often replicated tables change. You can estimate that by looking at _TableStat VST.

Yes, I have runing Processor Library and Bulk-Copy Processor on Linux.

In Windows, I only use the Pro2 Admin panel to manage configuration.

You cannot run the Pro2 Admin tool on Linux, since this is a GUI-only tool.

There used to be a 45-day trial in 4.6.5 and prior versions but that was removed in 4.6.6. You might want to check with Sales on this.
