You are cordially invited to get involved locally.  Based on the recent success of the PUG Challenge events, we are re-launching our local User’s Group.

The New England Progress User’s Group is holding a kick off meeting on Tuesday evening Oct 27, 2015.  We will start at 6:30 pm.  The meeting will be held at the Progress Corporate offices 14 Oak Park Drive, Bedford, Mass.

We expect to serve pizza and beverages to start.  We will using the opening as a time to welcome back the familiar and introduce the new. Everybody that uses a Progress technology is invited to attend with an initial emphasis on the OpenEdge product line. Our opening topic will be:

What is new in the ABL by Fernando Souza.

This session provides an overview of the enhancements to the ABL that will be available in the 11.6 Release. These include support for ABL enumeration types, OOABL reflection as well as other topics.

Fernando Souza is a Principal Engineer on the OpenEdge Language team. He has been a part of the OpenEdge development team for over 10 years and part of Progress for over 15 years. He has an outstanding understanding of the OpenEdge language from an internal and users perspective.

We may have a second presentation on the Progress modernization strategy for OpenEdge applications.

Living in New England makes you very lucky.  We have access to all the Progress talent and corporate resources.  Progress, for their part, have fully embraced the User Group Community and are sponsoring our kickoff.

Please come and get involved.  Meet fellow users as well as the people behind the scenes of the greatest application tool set in the world.

Please RSVP on Meetup. com( http://www.meetup.com/Progress-Software-OpenEdge/events/225682671/) via send mail to: nepuginfo@gmail.com.
