how to connect client to server in network?

i can't connect my client to my server?

what  should i do?

i thought file sharing is enough.

but its a  big mistake.

anyone who can help me to solve my problem?

Change the shortcut that you are using to start your session to include -T . The error is telling you that Progress/OpenEdge cannot create the temporary files (Local BI in this case).

I meant the Windows shortcut - the icon that you double-click to launch  the application.. Right click (in your image it looks like it is called 'Official Business Form')and select Properties from the menu.  In the box called 'Target' add the -T parameter at the end of the line, for example:

-T C:\Temp

i try fixing my problem using proserve command.

but i think its hard for a newbie like me to fix this problem.

all progress startup parameters are key-sensitive , the -s means the stack trace,

try with -S (Capitals) , it will works better. proshut [dbname] and use proserve with -S.

You need a workgroup or enterprise DB license to be able to do a client/server connection.

What's your current license? Did you purchase on OpenEdge Studio or are you a PSDN subscriber?

Anyway I'd contact your local progress subsidiary. If you need it they may give you a serial number and control code for an eval copy.

Yes. One party ist he server, another party (or multiple) parties are connection as clients.
