Powerpoint does not have a mail merge function as word does. Is there a way of getting data into a powerpoint document, csv, txt, xml file etc. If it is possible, do you have some code you can share.
I haven't done this myself but I did some searching and found PPTools Merge.
www.pptools.com/.../index.html
The PPTools Merge add-in for Microsoft PowerPoint merges data from Excel XLS files, Tab Delimited or Comma Separated Value (CSV) files into the text boxes, pictures, notes and hyperlinks of individual slides or whole presentations.
It sounds like you could output data to a file and use PPT Merge to pull it into PowerPoint.
I checked out the link and it could be a start. It seems that this 3rd party add-in imports data from a nominated excel documents. In my case, I would like to create a dynamic creation of the spreadsheet and then linking up to the powerpoint if that is possible. Here is the scenario: a user exports information from our Progress DB into a spreadsheet and this will be uploaded into powerpoint. All this should of course happen in the background.
