Hi,

I am new to linux..I had installes Ubuntu Linux 9.10 on VMware Player and was trying to install Sonic Workbench 7.6 on linux as directed by the Sonic documentation..I installed Java 1.6_18 jre as well as jdk on my virtual machine...after running the command ./setup.sh from root...Installation began but after 2-3 steps...It asked for Java exectables path...when I gave java installation path...it started saying Java version is not appropriate....and then I did all those things which I can...but still no hope....So any body out there can help me out to come of this problem...or can you please tell me what exactly is the Java version required for installation of workbench 7.6 on linux...and how to get installed the correct version on my virtual machine....

Thanks in advance....

Vivek

Sonic 7.6 is only certified with Java 1.4 and 5.0. Only 7.6.2 adds Java 6 support.

So what you need to do is to install with Java 1.4/5.0 first, then apply the service pack, then change to the Java 6 JRE.
