why people go for ADM

Are you talking about ADM1 or ADM2? That makes a huge difference!

And why not consider GUI for .NET?

Both ADM1 and ADM2 where real productivity boosters at their time (V8 and V9 aera). But now they lack the new UI and many other language features and modern architectural patterns (like OERA). I still support a few customers that are using ADM2. There is no hurry to replace it, it's still supported by PSC - although you should not expect major new functionality. The ADM2 can be used as a frontend to an OERA backend using the DataView, that makes it a little bit better choice.

But still the UI remains a Progress GUI and not a modern .NET GUI.

Are you starting something new or do you already have an ADM1/ADM2 based app and are seeking for a direction for the future?
