Title: "Is there a way to download all the Solutions from the PSC
Knowledge Center?"
Created: 02/11/2005     Last Modified: 05/29/2010
Status: Verified

Goals:
Is there a way to download all the Solutions from the Progress Knowledge Center?
Where can I download the Solutions from the Progress Knowledge Center?
Is the ProKB download still available?
Where can I find the Prokb.zip file?
Where can I download Knowledge Center Solutions?
Where can I access the Downloadable Knowledge Center?
How to access Knowledge Center Solutions offline?

Fixes:
Effective June 1st the option to download the OpenEdge knowledge base
will be migrated to the Progress Communities web site and restricted
to OpenEdge application partners only.

While some of the customers who have taken advantage of this feature
in the past have been direct users, the utilization of the
downloadable KB has always been intended for those application
partners who provide front-line support for OpenEdge to their
end-users. This change is intended to support that use. Application
partners may access the downloadable OpenEdge knowledge base here.

While we understand that this change may not please everyone, Progress
Customer Support is committed to continuing to deliver high-quality
knowledge content to all of our customers. The complete knowledge
base, as always, can be accessed online here.

This is what really gets me:

While some of the customers who have taken advantage of this feature in the past have been direct users, the utilization of the downloadable KB has always been intended for those application

partners who provide front-line support for OpenEdge to their end-users.

in all the years the KB's been available, I can't for the life of me remember it ever being described as for AP's only.

One can certainly understand that APs are a primary target, since it helps them to provide front-line support without involving PSC, so I have no problem with the idea of the APs being one of the big motivations.  But, having decided to create and publish such a thing, one surely has to recognize that many end user customers receive no support from the original AP, if there ever was one, and even those that nominally are still on support, the support is often poor ... including, in particular, no support because one is on an old version or blocking moving to new versions to maintain nominal support.  Given that the resource exists, why withhold it from any customer?  OK, I can see requiring that people are still on maintance as an incentive, but that's about it.

I agree. Also, where is the new download location for those of us who utilize our login?
