RCDA files being created

Posted by bsabia on 18-Oct-2010 18:02

Occasionally I have files being created in the 'temp' folder for a Progress session.  The files are in the format RCDA9999 and can grow to be quite large.  I've viewed the files in notepad with little success.

Is Progress creating these files or some other software responsible - Adobe, etc?

Appreciate any insight you can offer if you've seen this before.

rcd* files are for swapping r-code segments in and out of the execution buffer.

-D and –mmax are related to these type of files

Increasing these will increase memory usage and decrease disk IO

-mmax : Memory for r-code segments
-D : Compiled procedure directory entries
