Hi, Could anyone confirm for me if there are any issues in using OpenEdge Replication to replicate a database running on an IBM P720 with AIX 6.1 as the operating system, to an IBM Power 6 server runnning AIX 5.3.

Should work as long as you have the same OpenEdge version on source and target and both are 32-bit or both are 64-bit.
