Hi ...
I m kind of new here, need your guide if i m getting this wrong.
I have Progress database running on Windows 2012 server machine which run QAD for our erp. Now I need to access Progress from my Linux machine via ODBC. But looks like all guide on the net assuming that we are installing ODBC on Linux with Progress, so didn't help much.
My question is, is it possible to install Progress ODBC on Linux without installing Progress or whatever come with it? I just need ODBC so I can access my Progress using lets say PHP script to query data from other machine.
And the drier supposed to be free rite?
Thx for any help.
Hans
you can download the drivers from their web site, those are free indeed no need to install any other product just for the drivers - https://www.progress.com/odbc/openedge
No need to install DataDirect?
Just install ODBC Connector and we can already use it as ODBC for PHP/Linux?
Let me try it and feedback later, thx :)
You can download the SQL Client Access installer from the Electronic Download Center .
This installer contains both ODBC and JDBC drivers for OpenEdge.
Is it free? I got this error where try to access it :
You lack access rights for: Electronic Software Distribution
If you have any Progress product you should have an ESD account and you can also download the drivers from there. If not, you can just download them from the link I've sent before (connectors = drivers)... for 64 bit linux this will be www.progress.com/download
