user doesn't know what he wants

A user doesn't know what he wants. When you ask him what he wants of an information system you will hear what the system is capable of as it is at the moment. Sounds less or more recognizable eh?
Now we are users too, of one or more programming languages / development environments. Think of the allegory of the cave (Plato). We are the chained prisoners in that story (look what happens to that one prisoner that is freed). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allegory_of_the_Cave

If you/we are the chained prisoners, what is the Light?

Per definition the light in the allegory as described in the wiki is the unknown. Or the light of insight not yet present. At least that is my understanding. The light is not written with capital L in the wiki at least btw. It's not a religious thing.

Ah, the opposite I mean of course, it is (the light of) insight or understanding.
