OpenEdge can run on VMWare on Windows. This includes all of the OpenEdge products (including the database and AppServers). There are many customers running with this configuration in production. There are additional considerations that should be taken into account such as networking and performance. As with all OS products Progress does not support VMWare itself but have tested OpenEdge running in these environments.
As of now, OE 11.x supports running on the below VmWare products.
