Good morining to you ladies and gentelmen,
I have a little issue with OE Mangement Console. I did set up my DB via Fathom. I start My DB. When i try to connect with a TCP/IP client nothing happens. No error messages just prowin32.exe spalsh screen and take many minutes till i kill the process.
Can you help me to figure what it's not working.
My Settings and OE version are below:

Violating or not - there is no need to have it set to 10000 as I doubt he is even at 10% of that with amount of connectable users. There is no need to allocate more structures than one needs or would need and ask for troubles. And the database does not listen on localhost, it listens on 0.0.0.0.
In your db .lg file (in the same location as the db), you will find a line with the number 333. Take that line from the latest db start and copy it along with the remainder of the log file and pop it in here. Could be there's some config wrong, or errors in there.
So when you start the database manually via proserve it works ? On the top of what James said/asked:
- what is the db license
- is this a local or a remote connect
- what happens if you do this

So when you start the database manually via proserve it works ? On the top of what James said/asked:
- what is the db license
- is this a local or a remote connect
- what happens if you do this
: proenv
: prodb xx sports
: proserve xx -S 5678
: prowin32 xx -S 5678
==>It works fine
My problem is only when i start DB via OE Management console.
What happens if you stop the database, stop the adminserver (from services) and start the adminserver from proenv and then proadsv -start, eg from the command line.
I did stop Admin Server from <services.msc>
I did use
>Proenv
>ProadSv -Start
The adminserver is started. But when i try to connect i have this error message 1890
Did you also restart the database, before or after restart the adminserver from the command line ?
I did shut the DB > _mprshut mfgprod -by.
Then i logged in Management console and start the DB( via Fathom's web page)

Sorry, more things for you to try:
remove the -N tcp and -c from the other server arguments, -c is a client parameter and -N TCP is by default
you might also want to reduce maxusers from 10000 as a) I don't believe you need it, b) you are violating the license agreement :)
when you start the db like that: proserve -properties c:\dlc\properties\conmgr.properties -servergroup database-3.defaultconfiguration.defaultservergroup -adminport 7842 -m5
(you need to change the -properties to match your settings)
is there an antivirus or antispam software on that machine, which might be interfering with java.exe ?
I did so. But i have this error message
Sorry. Busy. Well we can go on like that for quite some time. My guess is java.exe is blocked by firewall or a similar software. Is there a way to access that machine remotely (RDP, TV ...) ? That would speed up the debug.
libor, maxusers 10000 is not violating the license agreement. all it does is set the size of the connection table, which is not the same thing as the number of users. to violate the license, you have to actually have more users connected than you are licensed for.
are you attempting to connect from another machine or the same one the server is on? having the database server listen for connection request from localhost will not work for connections from other machines.
Violating or not - there is no need to have it set to 10000 as I doubt he is even at 10% of that with amount of connectable users. There is no need to allocate more structures than one needs or would need and ask for troubles. And the database does not listen on localhost, it listens on 0.0.0.0.
