Killing an adapter client

Hi,

We have had a situation where a progress batch client has died while being connected to a sonic adapter. As the client hasn't shutdown cleanly we are left with the client seamingly connected to the adapter. If I run an adaptman and query the adapter I can see the clientID and connection information still there, even though the client has died. Is there a way of removing that client instance from the adapter without restarting it?

I would also like to know why the client hasn't timed out and died by itself. pingInterval is set to 7 and I've left the adapter up for over two hours.
