Hide Label property should still allow a field to be edited

Posted by Charles Ford on 22-Jun-2017 07:16

Hello,

When Text Area, Text, Email Address, Phone etc. fields are empty and the Hide Label property is checked you are not able to select the pencil to allow inline editing.

Once the field has some value the pencil can be selected and the field can be updated inline.

I've other HTML content on my view page to give the field context.

Field Properties: Hide Label is Checked

Use Rich Text (HTML) Editor is Unchecked

This field allows inline editing from view pages by clicking on icon (pencil) is Checked.

Regards

This has been resolved and is now available on eap.rollbase.com.  Please give it a try and confirm it's good for you.

When a cell has hide label property set and can be inline edited and it's empty, then we will dynamically insert a non breaking space in the dom so that there is an item to mouse over and bring inline editing on.  Incidentally, this will fix the cell height and fix any field misalignment issues on the page - in other words whether the field is empty or not it will occupy its designated space. Note: if you don't want that behavior,  you can use "Hide Empty Field" property.

Thanks, Thierry
