Record visibility error in getPage REST API calls

I am getting "You do not have permission to access this record" error when making REST API calls. I have set view permissions for "Relationships between <object> and User". It works perfectly on web but gives access error for REST API calls for the same user.

Also noticed that this error occurs for rbf_selectQuery() AJAX API calls.
