Reporting and custom page footers

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to find out how to build reports, which allow for custom page footers. For instance, think of list items on a bill which should be summed up at the end of every page (see below for example). It's fairly trivial to sum up over all items or part of the items, but I'm not sure how to reliably identify the rows which would fit an A4 page and then build the sum over that (an item might contain multi-line descriptions) and put that on a fixed footer position on that page.

I know it might work with some new CSS trickery (https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2015/01/designing-for-print-with-css/) But before I spend a lot of time fighting CSS... does anyone have experience with building this type of reports? Any opinion or idea would really help and would be much appreciated.

Bill for foo bar (page 1)
-------------------

€ 100.00
€ 100.00
€ 100.00
€ 100.00
---------
Sum on page 1 - € 400.00

Bill for foo bar (contd, page 2)
€ 100.00
€ 100.00
€ 100.00
 ----------
Sum on page 2 - € 300.00
Total: € 700.00
