Cards not working with Portals

There doesn't seem to be a way to enable Cards in a Portal using a List View:

Works fine in the desktop application, but not via the portal (where the above list is defined).

Is this intentional?

Use client side selectQuery API and construct custom HTML as required. To streamline such usage, you could go about creating custom kendo widgets that use Rollbase selectQuery/REST api as the datasource. Kendo kit is part of portals and you can use it straight away.

Thanks. For a portal, is there a way to include a record list as a simple set of fields without the grid format?
