[4.2] - Creating a new record initializes the checkbox value

Hello,

I have a checkbox field and I am trying to create a new record without the checkbox field being on the page. Just after creation upon inspecting this record under a trigger, the checkbox value is specified as null. This is a bug and I would expect the checkbox value to either be "false" or "true". Please let me know when this issue would be fixed.
