I have two objects A and B and they have a relationship of many to one (A:Many and B:one). There is a field in B called as Trading currency that is a template text field and I am accessing this field in record A as a related field also called as trading currency. Now if I select a related record B when creating a new record A, the trading currency is set properly. However, if I do not select a related record B when creating a new record A, the trading currency comes back with a java.lang.nullPointException error on the field in the View page after creation. The trading currency should just be empty if no related record B is selected. Could someone confirm to me that this is a known issue please?

Any NPE shown in UI is a bug. Can you share the entire stacktrace as part of a bug submission ?
