Unable to log into RB after install

Fresh install of RB v1.0.0.0 using MSSQL 2008 R2 after having a successful install of RB v4.0.8 running against the MSSQL database. When going to the login page, the default created username and password just returns back to the login page with now error when the login button is pressed. Doing the "forgot password" link informs that the user account is not found. In the tomcat logs and any other log I can find, I don't see any errors but I suspect it is not getting connected to the database. I've reviewed what we've done and the RB documentation but see nothing that I can fault as the issue. Any suggestions on what to look at and if there are any other logs or way to get deeper into the issue. Thanks!

Nevermind....hostname entry in shared.properties didn't have :8080 on the end of it. Sorry to have bothered anyone.
