Creating button/link that will open related records

My problem: Some of my records have too many related records and that making it difficult to read I would like to substitute all related records with one button/link (that will be situated on each row), on click it will show (ether in the same window or in separate window) list of all related records Ideally name of the button/link should have total number of related links. If possible I need examples of formulas and step by step instructions how to accomplish this
