Hello Rollbase team, Since recently, it is not possible to create a view with a filter on the Current Visitor or the Current User. The problem only appears in IE7 and IE8. The filter "CURR_VISITOR" aswell as "CURR_USER" add buttons do not appear on these browsers. See the screenshots below : IE7 and IE8 : Other browsers : I tested it on IE7, IE8, IE9, Google Chrome, Firefox. (Hosted version)

Hi Matthieu,

To be transparent we are reducing priority of all IE7 and IE8 issues and phasing out support of these browsers. The precedent has been set already by Google (see link below) and we hope users will upgrade to more modern browser versions.

I hope this helps explain the slow response, is there anything else we can do to encourage your users to upgrade to IE9, Chome, FF, etc?

Hi Matt,

Dropping support for IE7 and IE8 will affect some of our customers, which uses non-rollbase systems working on IE7 only. In addition, some of our customers are not allowed to install applications because of company related policies.

Shouldn't we be the one adjusting instead of them? We have declared before that IE7 is our minimum requirement(Based from Rollbase in Action) and we can't simply take it back. I think its best if Rollbase will only the drop the support when Microsoft does so.

Hi Godfrey,

We are not dropping support entirely, but it is becoming increasingly difficult to support these older browsers using modern CSS and JS techniques.

I must point out that we are far from alone in this:

1. Google is dropping support for IE7 and IE8. See:

http://blogs.cio.com/operating-systems/17408/google-drops-support-ie8-windows-xp-users-out-cold

They have millions of businesses using Google Apps, this is orders of magnitude greater than Rollbase and yet they are comfortable making this decision.

2. Salesforce.com is not supporting IE7 in their latest features: Chatter and Site.com do not work in IE7, these are very big pieces of Salesforce that are not supported. For details see: https://login.salesforce.com/help/doc/en/getstart_browser_overview.htm

So, I am not saying we are completely dropping support for IE7 and IE8, but we cannot guarantee support for them everywhere in the product especially as we make improvements and modernize the UI. We have to move Rollbase forward and
