The "Attach" record function does not work properl

There seems to be a problem attaching related records when there is more than 1 tab for the Object View. On a single tab, we can get the "Attach " to work, but as soon as we add the same function to a second tab, the first tab's attach function stops working. Once you edit the page layout, and simply remove the embedded view, and then replace it back, it works again on the first tab, but now the second tab stops working. Any ideas?
