Auto-Number increments even if new record is not saved

Regarding regular Rollbase - New Record pages, I noticed that Auto-Number fields will increment even if a record is not saved. Previously, the Auto-Number would only increment AFTER a record is saved, so if a user cancels a record without saving, the Auto-Number would not increment. Is this a bug or have you changed the behavior of Auto-Number fields? Thanks

Yes, that was changed. I'll see what I can do.

Pavel,

We just checked auto-number today.

Last record created from last week has number 099.

The first record created today was assigned the next number of 100 (works).

The second record created today was assigned the same number of 100 (should have been 101).

The third record created today was assigned the next number of 101 (works).

The fourth record created today was assigned the next number of 102 (works).

For some reason, the first record created does increment the auto-number counter.

We tested the auto-number in different zones and the same issue exists in all zones.

Is there anything you can do about this?

Thanks,

Mike

I will fix the problem in the next release. In the mean time please set "no duplicates" property on auto-number field to avoid duplicate numbers.
