Disable Quick Edit globally

Is there a way to disable Quick Edit globally (across the whole application, all objects, all fields)?

Actually what do you mean by "quick edit" ? Inline editing when mouse is rolling over field in view mode?

You can disable inline editing on field level now.

yes. however i am looking for a global solution. we have several hundred fields (all objects) that needs the inline editing to be disabled
