Default Search to a particular object?

Hi Everyone, 90% of the time, my users are searching within one particular object (Loan Application). it would be terrific if the search bar could be configured to default to that object rather than "All". This could be an application setting. it would just make things a little bit faster for the users. I'm sure that other developers would be in the same position, since most applications are centred around one or two key objects.
