Remove edit / delete function from a view.

Is there a way to remove the EDIT/DELETE function under "ACTION" in a view? I want to remove it from some views not all - so changing the permission of that user or roll is not an option. Also I am wanting to do this in a portal. Example: I want a portal user to be able to edit a recird in one view, but not in another - both views being for the same object.
