How do the Security settings for timeout actually work?

What are the default timeout settings? All of our users request more time - if I look at the settings in the Subscription info, none of them should get logged out in a work day. Low Passwords must be at least 6 characters long. Passwords are case-insensitive Block unsuccessful login attempts: Never # minutes of inactivity before expiring sessions: 720 # minutes of usage before forcing users to login again: 1440 # minutes to wait before expiring record locks: 240

What's exact scenario? If entire customer zone is inactive for more than an hour the system will unload zone from memory. That will cause user to re-login. As well as server restart.

I am not sure of the exact scenario, only that users complain about being logged out frequently. So, assuming that the Security setting is "LOW", the ways that a user can get logged out are (1) their userid has been inactive for 720 minutes [12 hrs] (2) no one has done anything on their zone for the 60 mins (3) the server is restarted for some reason ?

As ISV partner you have full access to customers' log files. Perhaps that may help to get some more info.

How often? Which customer zone? Particular user? Please submit support request for follow up.
