Is there a way to change the event types that are offered on the quick creation in the calendar? When a user clicks on a calendar spot and the quick create option pops up it displays event they have no access to. So it gives the user the feeling they can create that event then when they choose it it says you have no access. Seems like there should be a way to eliminate choices from the drop down. Thanks.

The reason is it gives the user a chance to avoid the normal flow if (for example) you only want them to be able to create a reminder (task or event) from an actual record as opposed to one from scratch. Gives them a work around for a normal workflow you might not want.
Option to create Events is offered only to the users who have permissions to create a new record of Event type.
Actually there is a bug which will be fixed: we should only show options to create events user have permissions to.
