Inconsistent email for backups and imports

I submitted an import which ran to completion. I know it completed because there was an entry on the Administration Setup. However, I did not not receive an email msg and the information in the Administration setup looks like it was interrupted for some reason. I have had other imports and full backups not send an email msg. Is there any rhyme or reason as to why this happens?

Can you receive UI-generated emails to your account?
There may be multiple reasons for not receiving emails:
1. Incorrect email address
2. Incorrect Google credentials (if you're using gmail)
3. Spam settings

I also recommend you look in the log files for the customer zone you're using.
