I created a relationship with the Communication Log object with another object, and can't figure out how to make it save emails sent to my object. How? Tried inspecting other pre-installed objects like Employee to see if there were triggers or settings that enforce the creation of Communication Logs, but couldn't see anything. Thanks.

Which object did you create the Communication Log relationship with? I can take a look.
When you create an object with the "Contact" attribute (or add this attribute to an existing object), a relationship with Communication Log is automatically established, and a "Communication Logs" related list component is automatically added to that object's View page.
