Is there a place you can go and access a fields historical log? Or do you have to create a page to view it and if so what fields do you use to access a fields historical log? Also, can you view a historical log for a file upload field?
We use Activity Trail records. Their list can typically be found on System Info tab of View pages.
You can create Activity Trail records through Triggers. For instance, you can setup a trigger which will create Activity Trail record every time a value of particular field changes.
